Enger Park includes the land surrounding Enger Tower on the summit of the rocky ridge overlooking Duluth's harbor. The park includes the observation tower, a pavilion, picnic facilities, and hiking trails. In addition, despite the challenging northern climate, the park has been developed by landscape designer Helen Lind into five garden areas: a white birch and poplar grove featuring thousands of daffodils in the Spring; a shade garden featuring hosta; a Japanese garden, which includes the Peace Bell given by Duluth's sister city Oh Ara, Japan; a hill planted in dwarf conifers; and a garden with over 200 perennials lining stair steps leading to an observation point. Enger Park with its popular tower continues to be favorite spot for both tourists and local visitors, offering unrivaled views of the Duluth area and Lake Superior.
