The first house which stood here was owned by early St. Paul politician and real estate investor, Henry Rice (Rice Park's namesake in Downtown St. Paul). Rice's house which was built in 1882 by A. M. Radcliffe, was torn down by Fogg after attempts to redesign it were abandoned. Fogg served as superintendent of Ramsey County schools and president of the Board of Education.

Memory

My great grandmother was a cook here in the early 1900's, I have some antiques that were originally gifts to her from the Fogg family.
