The Kimball Hotel is a four story hotel which was later called the Hamline Hotel and which is now home to the Wilder Apartments.

The information provided here is from the 1983 Ramsey County Historical Society and Saint Paul Heritage Preservation Commission Historic Sites Survey:

Additions and alterations: "Basement level storefronts altered. Entrance altered."

Legal description: "Lots 5-6-7, Block 1, Stierle, McConville and Seeger's Midway Addition"

Historical background: "The original owner and proprietor of this hotel, which was the first called the Kimball Hotel, was Root E. Kimball. Kimball probably lived at the hotel as well."

Statement of significance: "A modest brick hotel which is a member of a vanishing breed as multi-story brick hotels in neighborhoods outside of Downtown are being replaced by motels."
