Date of site visit 2/8/1982 by Fieldworker: R. Younger

Significant details: "Simple cornice. Large rectangular fixed sash with transom and 1/1 sidelights at second story. One rounded arched window at second story. Storefront cornice."

Additions and alterations: "Storefronts altered. New second story windows."

Legal description: "North 1/2 Lot 20, Block 9, College Place West Division"

Historical background: "The original owner of this building, which was constructed for $3,500, was Robert F. Boyer, who operated R. F. Boyer and Company, grocers, in this building. Boyer lived at 1655 Capitol Avenue."

Statement of significance: "This commercial building is one of the oldest commercial blocks on this stretch of Snelling Avenue. It is basically intact above the first floor.
